Polarized light microscopy can mean any of a number of optical
microscopy techniques involving polarized light. Simple techniques
include illumination of the sample with polarized light. Directly
transmitted light can, optionally, be blocked with a polariser
orientated at 90 degrees to the illumination. More complex
microscopy techniques which take advantage of polarized light
include differential interference contrast microscopy and
interference reflection microscopy. Scientists will often use a
device called a polarizing plate to convert natural light into
polarized light.[1]
These illumination techniques are most commonly used on
birefringent samples where the polarized light interacts strongly
with the sample and so generating contrast with the background.
Polarized light microscopy is used extensively in optical
mineralogy.

HEADS
• Trinocular Siedentopf type heads are with 30° inclined tubes,
interpupillary distance from 52 to 75 mm and is equipped with
diopter adjustment(s).
• The trinocular head comes with a Ø 30 mm photo port.
• An optional ergonomic titling head (0:100 50:50) are also
available (Otional)

CONDENSER
• Abbe NA 1.25, with Dia 2-30mm Iris Diaphragm, with Fillter.
FOCUSING
• Coaxial coarse and fine adjustments, 100 graduations, 1 μm per
graduation, 100 μm per rotation, total travel approximately 20 mm
• Supplied with an adjustable rack stop to prevent damage to sample
and objectives.
• The coarse adjustments are equipped with friction control
ILLUMINATION
• 3 W adjustable LED or 6V 20W illumination for transmitted light,
12V 50W for reflected light with internal 100-240 V power supply
PACKAGING
• Supplied with power cord, dust cover, a spare fuse, user manual.
• All packed in good quality foam and carton.
